Babys First Visit
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), advise that children should visit the dentist by their first birthday. Baby teeth typically began to appear between six months and one year. Baby’s teeth help children speak and chew as well as hold space in the jaws for permanent teeth. When the baby teeth fully erupt, by the age of three, they have 20 teeth; however, there are 32 adult teeth. When baby teeth are lost too early permanent teeth may drift compounding problems for permanent teeth. We know the importance of positive experiences. Our staff has been specially trained and is prepared to provide the most positive experience for the youngest babies and children.
For children consistency is important. Even for an older child changing the dentist will provide an opportunity for apprehension. At Verde Pointe, pediatric dentistry is just one of the services we provide for the whole family. Sometimes parents need to bring children with them for dental visits. Often times having the child see the parents receive dental service helps to instill confidence. If the parents want the children in the treatment room with them we accommodate that. We provide an area behind area behind the counter where children can be watched by the staff while they do their homework or play.
